Incentive and motivational travel
If a box of chocolates or the company conference room just won’t cut it, a vacation or meetings in a new environment will. What better way to acknowledge valued employees or motivate your staff.
We can assemble an itinerary of relaxing and challenging activities around your meetings to enrich potential, bond your staff and instill a sense of confidence that will last longer than a tan. Or custom design a vacation that will appeal to the special interests of associates you want to express your gratitude to.
We've hosted many such groups; some among them are the Discovery Channel and the elite Gurkha Regiment of the Singapore Police.
Student and educational travel
Educational travel to Belize is both university and playground rolled into one.
We can construct an itinerary which will include Maya sites, caves with museum quality pottery, Belizean culture, botanic gardens, museums, marine ecology and natural history.
We hire expert guides and have prepared many successful programs and would be happy to discuss your specific interests and goals with you.
"Katie Valk was essential in making our study abroad trip to Belize a success. She was able to take our ideas and organize a trip that provided myself and my students with a taste of the archaeology, culture and natural history of Belize. As one of my students said after the trip "It was the best week of my life". Katie was always available to answer questions and provide suggestions. The degree of flexibility was also something that was very important for us, we were able to make some changes while we were there that suited us-not many other travel agents would have been able to do so much for us!! I strongly recommend Katie for planning your trip to Belize-whether for business, pleasure or as a learning experience."
- Dr. Renee B. Walker, Director, Belize and the Mayan Culture, State University of New York, College at Oneonta
"Katie's knowledge of Belize and know-how helped us to structure a study tour that was extremely rewarding for our students. She seemed to know every place, and so was able to customize an itinerary that very much suited our goals for a rich educational and personal experience."
- Dr. Ed Robins, Director, Belize Study Tour, University of Wisconsin - River Falls
Family and Senior Travel
There are few better vacation destinations for active and curious people than Belize. We are less than two hours by air from Miami and the short flight is easy on restless kids and older bones. Belize is relatively clean and underpopulated. Our water supply is safe, as are the tasty foods you'll be served. Our health services are diligent in their efforts to prevent the illnesses inherant in other countries. We are a stable, english speaking democracy. We love our kids and hold our elders in high regard.
Belize offers many activities which will unveil the wonders of nature and delight people of all ages and abilities. Butterfly farms and iguana breeding projects, birding, an easy paddle into an underground river cave with human bones and pots, Mayan ruins, kayaking, horses, camping, fishing, sailing and snorkeling (or a glass bottom boat for less experienced swimmers) are among some of the activities you can all easily participate in.
Children are welcomed and arrangements can be made for sitters should you want to participate in an activity not suitable for the kids or require time alone to dine and dance.
If you're looking for a place to retire, take a peak at the new Retirement Act of Belize, designed by the government to attract retirees to our shores.
Contact us for ideas. We'll need to know how old your kids are, as rates for meals and activities may be discounted and some hotels levy charges for children 10 and older and others at 18 and older. Let us know if your kids have
foods they can't live without or if you have dietary restrictions the kitchen should know about in advance. We are able to offer discounts to senior travelers and suggest the most suitable lodgings for you. San Pedro, Ambergris Caye boasts a large selection of one and two bedroom beachfront condos with fully equipped kitchens, cable tv, phones and pools, for people who prefer the comforts and conveniences’ of home.
Upscale Catered Riverside Jungle Campground, Cayo District
This magical spot on the Macal River offers the ambiance of jungle camping mixed with the comforts of a tented safari. The accommodations are casitas constructed of mixed hardwoods resting on raised wooden platforms with verandahs facing the jungle, two beds per tent with linens and towels, hot water showers and low impact flush toilets. Your meals will be prepared by your Maya caretakers and served in a spacious thatched roof palapa. This campground is on the property of one of Belize’s finest jungle lodges. On premise activities include guided nature hikes, horseback riding, canoeing, mountain biking, a world-class spa, an informative Natural History Museum and butterfly-breeding farm. They also offer day trips to ruins (Tikal, Caracol, Xunantunich), caving, kayaking and more.
Island Camping, Placencia
This coral encrusted island is 8 miles offshore and until recently, was used as a fishing camp. Your accommodations are rustic wooden cabanas or tents. They offer complimentary use of kayaks and snorkel gear so you can explore and discover the exquisite coral gardens and fascinating mangrove ecology that grace this natural setting. The island caretaker/cook prepares tasty meals under the thatched roof dining area.
Jungle Trekking
Hiking and camping in the jungle is a extraordinary experience. Our guides are intimately familiar with the flora/fauna and natural history of Belize. Most grew up in the bush and this is a wonderful way to become familiar with our rain forests and the species that thrive there. You'll be enthralled by the sounds and sights of the jungle, especially after dark, when the nocturnal creatures you won't see by day, become active at night. Jaguar sightings are very rare, but if you are determined to see one of our five species of cats, hiking and camping is the best way to attempt this. If you have something or somewhere special in mind that you particularly want to see, let us know. These trips include guide, gear and meals.
It's important to note that these trips aren't for everyone, but those who do participate, will be well pleased they did. For a lifetime.
